Australian Electronic Music Duo | The Presets Live at Hotel Brunswick
The Return of the Iconic Australian Electronic Music Duo
The Presets DJ set returns to Hotel Brunswick after selling out their last performance. This highly anticipated show takes place during the Anzac Day long weekend on Friday, 24th April. As a premier Australian electronic music duo, The Presets took shape in 2003 when Julian Hamilton and Kim Moyes first met at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. They were quickly recognized for their unique ability to fuse elements of dance music with an energy more akin to rock’n’roll. After signing with Modular Recordings, the band released two EPs and their debut album, Beams, in 2005. Since then, they have become a staple of the global festival circuit.
Chart-Topping Success and Cultural Impact In 2008, this Australian electronic music duo released the chart-topping Apocalypso, which achieved Triple Platinum sales in Australia. This landmark album featured four hit singles, including the undisputed classic ‘My People’. Setting new standards for dance music nationwide, The Presets went on to win five ARIA awards and two ARIA Artisan Awards, including the prestigious Album of the Year. Furthermore, they received the J Award and FBI SMAC Award for their creative contributions. Kim and Julian also shared the coveted Songwriter of the Year Award at the 2009 APRA Awards, cementing their legacy in the industry.
Individual Projects and Continued Evolution
In addition to their work as an Australian electronic music duo, both members have pursued successful solo ventures. Julian has guested with renowned artists including Flight Facilities and Steve Angello, while also scoring original pieces for the Sydney Dance Company. Meanwhile, Kim has become a prominent DJ and produced acclaimed albums for artists such as DMA’s and Northeast Party House. He also co-owns the buzzing EDM indie label, Here To Hell. Because they remain active in multiple facets of the industry, their live DJ sets offer a diverse and expertly curated experience.
We recommend checking our official event calendar for final ticket releases and set times. Because their previous appearance sold out rapidly, securing your entry early is essential for this Anzac Day celebration. In addition to the main performance, the night will feature supporting acts that showcase the best of the local scene. Joining us at Hotel Brunswick allows you to experience the high-octane energy that only this Australian electronic music duo can provide. Ultimately, this event promises to be a highlight of the holiday weekend. We look forward to seeing you on the dance floor!
