Mini Farmers – Curious about Cows!
These school holidays take the kids to The Farm in Byron Bay for their Farm Kids sessions where they take the children on an educational and fun tour of The Farm. They educate them about the cows, pigs, bees, chickens, flower crops, herb garden, orchard and veggie crops. They discuss concepts like paddock rotation for the animals, pollination, organic farming, healthy soil and composting and other ethical farming practices. The children get up close and personal with their pet chickens and when available taste veggies, edible flowers and herbs.
In the Curious About Cows session the kids will get to step into the paddock and discover the world of cows—what makes beef and dairy different, and how ethical farming practices and animal welfare keep our herds healthy and happy. Kids will get hands-on making fresh, creamy butter from scratch, create a charming cow-themed trinket jar, and craft a cow-inspired bookmark to take home. A day filled with farm facts, creative fun, and delicious dairy delights!
Ideal for children aged 5 and over.
