Born in the UK to Jamaican parents, Miss Renee Simone’s musical journey began at the age of seven when she inherited her mother’s cherished vinyl collection. The Little Miss sang along to the jazz legends like Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, and Etta James, and Motown icons such as Aretha Franklin and Diana Ross. This was the foundation of DJ sets featuring live vocals. She then began buying records to add to the collection and she was off.
Her influences are as diverse as her sound; she draws inspiration from R&B legends like Janet Jackson, Lauryn Hill, Whitney Houston, and TLC. With an appreciation for the culture of old-school hip hop and the captivating vibes of UK neo soul, Miss Renee's musical palette is rich.
Beginning her journey with DJ sets featuring live vocals in her childhood bedroom, she also embraced the vibrant rave scene in Germany as a podium dancer. It was here that her love for electronic music truly solidified.
