Follow the Mud Trail: A Journey Through the Studios of Northern Rivers’ Finest Ceramic Artists!

Across the Byron, Ballina and Lismore Shires and now in its 13th year, the North Coast Mud Trail invites you to explore the studio spaces of 33 ceramic artists working across 22 studio locations in the Northern Rivers region.

Wander the trail at your own pace, guided by the 2025 Mud Map booklet and discover the incredible beauty and diversity of ceramics — from functional wares to experimental sculpture, wood-fired pots to contemporary porcelain, the trail brings you to them all.

Studio Open Days
: Get a rare look behind the scenes as artists open their working studios to the public.

Meet the Makers: 
Have a chat with local potters and get to know the people behind the pots — their techniques, inspirations, and studio secrets.


Demos, Workshops & Events: 
Watch live demonstrations such as the harvesting of raw, locally sourced clay. Take part in creative workshops such as, the plate & ring dish decoration activity. Attend events such as the pop up flower stall.

There is something for everyone to get the creative juices flowing during this super inspiring weekend.
